Earn $100 By Reporting Illegal Dumping

Folks who report illegal trash disposal in the city of New Port Richey may find a reward forthcoming for their efforts.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — People who dump trash where it doesn’t belong aren’t just littering, they are also breaking the law.

That’s the message New Port Richey’s Code Enforcement Department is trying to get out to the public. The city is encouraging residents who spot people illegally dumping of garbage, tires, yard debris and other refuse in public rights-of-way to report it.

Making a call to Code Enforcement at 727-841-4550 could even net residents a reward of up to $100, the city noted on its website. The information provided, however, needs to lead to a conviction of the person responsible.
