NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- The New Port Richey Firehouse Subs restaurant is encouraging families to visit the restaurant this Sunday, April 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p..m. to raise funds and awareness for the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, a nonprofit that provides funding, lifesaving equipment and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations.

The foundation recently awarded the Port Richey Fire Department a $38,608 lifesaving equipment grant to fund the department’s purchase of a fire suppression rescue boat, saltwater fire pump and trailer. The boat will be the only one of its kind in the county, and the new equipment will enable the department to provide proper fire suppression, water rescues and rapid diver and flooding responses to the city.

A portion of every sub purchased at Firehouse Subs is donated to the foundation. Guests can also donate to the foundation through the Round-Up program, $2 pickle bucket donations and the donation canisters near the cash register.
