Salt Springs Alliance, the citizen support organization (CSO) for Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park, invites you to come join us for a canoe/kayak trip in the Park. We will launch at 8:00 AM and should return no later than 11:00 AM. Please plan to arrive early enough to unload your watercraft, park, and sign in.
This will be a guided three mile excursion from CSO headquarters up through the "chute" to the south branch of Double Hammock Creek. From there we will paddle upstream into the main portion of Double Hammock Creek and follow the Westport Channel into the open Gulf of Mexico. Turning south, we will paddle along the coast and then up Salt Spring Run back to our launch point. This trip may require maneuvering in strong tidal currents, and is recommended for intermediate to advanced paddlers.
All paddlers must bring their own kayak or canoe. Each person is required to have a USCG approved personal floatation device and whistle. Participants must also sign a liability waiver before launching.
