Salt Springs Alliance, the citizen support organization (CSO) for Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park, invites you to come join us for a canoe/kayak trip in the Park. We will launch at 9:00 AM and should return no later than 11:00 AM. Please plan to arrive early enough to unload your watercraft, park, and sign in.
This trip will be a relaxing paddle of less than two miles through some of the most scenic areas of Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park. We will launch from the CSO headquarters, paddling past the Park Manager's residence and upstream to Cauldron Spring near the newly completed parking lot for the State Park. Then we will backtrack and head further up Salt Spring Run to the source of Salt Spring and into the tidal lake beyond the Spring. You can expect to see a variety of wildlife - particularly birds ... egrets, white ibis, wood storks, blue heron and osprey. This trip is an easy paddle, and will be suitable for all canoeists and kayakers - even beginners.
All paddlers must bring their own kayak or canoe. Each person is required to have a USCG approved personal floatation device and whistle. Participants must also sign a liability waiver before launching.
Please let us know you will be attending this event by clicking the link below and making a reservation. If you are a CSO member, we would still like you to make a reservation so we know you're coming. There is no charge for CSO members. If you are not a member of Salt Springs Alliance, there is a $5.00 launch fee that may be paid in advance when you make your reservation.
If you know someone else you think might want to come, feel free to forward a copy of this Email to them.
