
As heavy rains pummel the Tampa Bay area, Pasco County officials are reporting street flooding in some low lying areas.
As of 11:30 a.m., officials were warning about flooding along Cape Cod Drive in the Holiday area. The water, county spokesman Doug Tobin said, had not impacted homes, but was close.
Street flooding has also been reported in Park Lake Estates in New Port Richey.

“Some manhole covers (are) coming off,” Tobin wrote in an email to media. Pasco County Road and Bridge has been dispatched to the area.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the entire Tampa Bay area, including Pasco County, through Saturday evening.

Residents in low-lying areas are advised to take precautions to safeguard their homes. Motorists are also urged to exercise caution on local roadways.
