"Get Connected" a volunteer online community in Pasco County

With over 100 volunteer needs based in Pasco County, United Way of Pasco County launched a program that makes volunteering easy !

Over 50 nonprofit agencies have signed on with Get Connected, since its launch in February of 2016. The Volunteer Way in New Port Richey was one of the first agencies to join Get Connected. Martha O’ Brien, Assistant CEO, stated. “Through Get Connected, The Volunteer Way has recruited volunteers who help at our Food Pantry, Soup Kitchen, Hydroponic Farm and warehouse. Every month, The Volunteer Way depends on volunteers to continue its mission to help an average of 23,000 homeless and working poor families in Pasco County who need food, personal items, other resources and more. Thank you Get Connected and United Way of Pasco for your volunteer support.”

“Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community. Get Connected has created a user-friendly program that connects the service community and private citizens; it has long-term potential for building relationships between the volunteers and local nonprofit organizations” said Alice Delgardo, President/CEO of United Way of Pasco County.

Anyone can browse on Get Connected and search volunteer needs by cause, age and distance. Get Connected is excellent for students seeking hours for academic scholarships and employers in search of a volunteer project. Visit www.unitedwaypasoc.org and click on the Volunteer link.
