Gov. Rick Scott's Finances Focus of Lawsuit
The Democratic candidate for Florida Attorney General says Scott isn't being entirely truthful in a lawsuit filed Wednesday.

With Election Day less than a month away, incumbent Gov. Rick Scott not only has to face Democratic challenger Charlie Crist at the polls, he’s also facing a lawsuit filed by another Democrat.
George Sheldon, a candidate for the state’s attorney general post, says Scott has violated the state’s Constitution by using a “web of complex financial arrangements” to hide more than $200 million in assets from the public, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Sheldon, The Tampa Tribune reported, says Scott hasn’t disclosed all of the trust accounts he controls in his financial disclosure documents with the state.

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in Leon County, Sheldon asks the judge to require Scott to disclose all assets he controls or owns immediately and to declare Scott’s “blind trust” a violation of the law, which Scott himself signed, the Times says.
Sheldon faces Republican incumbent Pam Bondi in the Nov. 4 General Election. He’s trailing her both in the polls and fundraising, according to Florida Today.
