The April 2 request to DeSantis was made the same day the governor announced a stay-at-home order for the state of Florida.

"Although my office is responsible for conducting elections in Pasco County, only the state has the authority to postpone an election," said Corley. "The governor has now signed the order making it official to protect the health and safety of voters, poll workers and staff."
