HOLIDAY, FL — A 33-year-old Holiday is facing multiple charges after Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said he battered a woman and fled when deputies were called.

According to the sheriff's office, on Thursday, Carl Torres of Viking Drive got into a fight with a woman with which he had a domestic relationship. During the fight, deputies said he grabbed her by the back of the neck and pushed her forward, causing bruising.

When she called 911, he fled and was apprehended in Tarpon Springs.

During the course of the arrest, deputies discovered that Torres had been convicted for an attempted murder and aggravated assault in New Jersey and owned a firearm, which is prohibited for a convicted felon.

He was charged with felony battery, violation of pretrial release and violation of a domestic violence injunction.
