HOLIDAY, FL — A 35-year-old Holiday woman has been charged with child neglect after a 1-year-old girl in her care overdosed on fentanyl.

Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Pasco County Fire Rescue paramedics responded to Heather Revell's home on Ermine Drive and discovered a little girl had overdosed on the drug. Paramedics were able to revive the toddler by administering Narcan, used to counteract drug overdoses.

When questioned, Revell admitted to injecting heroin the night before. She told deputies she thought she cleaned up the heroin and drug paraphernalia that night. However, the next morning the child in her care became lethargic and then passed out.

Deputies searched Revell's bedroom and found a white substance in a tin can confirmed to be heroin and a gray-colored rock-like substance in a plastic bag confirmed to be fentanyl. They also recovered syringes and other drug paraphernalia.
