HUDSON, FL -- A 25-year-old Hudson man is charged with attempted murder after being accused of ambushing and shooting a former co-worker over a money dispute.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Brent Eshelby Jr. and the victim previously worked together as commercial fishermen on a shrimp boat and had an ongoing dispute over money Eshelby owed the victim.

The shooting victim and his wife were staying in a travel trailer on Lilly Avenue in Hudson on May 27 when they heard a noise and saw a shadow pass by the trailer's window. The victim went outside to investigate and, a short time later, his wife heard a series of gunshots. She told deputies she ran outside and saw a man wearing a partial mask holding a rifle fleeing from the area.
