Hudson Man Caught On Video Abusing Small Dog
A 26-year-old man was arrested Sunday after a surveillance video caught him abusing a small dog.
HUDSON, FL -- A 26-year-old man was arrested Sunday after a surveillance video caught him abusing a 10-pound Dachshund.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Zakery Zarifis was arrested when a neighbor's security camera filmed him violently yanking a small dog named Cujo off the ground by his leash and swinging the dog into a picnic table, smashing the dog's head on the underside of the picnic table. Zarifis then began swinging the dog in the air by his leash. He'd allow the dog to walk away and then jerked him back by the leash, causing the dog to fly backward and yelp in pain.
Zarifis has been charged with felony animal cruelty for inflicting "excessive unnecessary pain and suffering. Bond was set at $5,000.
