Hudson Man Killed in Pinellas I-275 Crash

The accident involving two motorcycles and a vehicle happened Sunday evening in the St. Petersburg area.

A 28-year-old Hudson man is dead following a crash on Interstate 275 Sunday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an unknown vehicle was heading northbound in the inside center lane near mile marker 23 around 7:25 p.m. A motorcycle driven by Jason Daniel Hyde, 32, of Hudson, was also traveling north, just ahead of a motorcycle driven by Douglas Floyd Johnson. The two motorcycles, troopers say, were traveling at a high rate of speed and made several β€œabrupt lane changes.”

When the first vehicle tried to change lanes, it went into the path of the motorcycles. The motorcyclists, troopers say, steered left and traveled off the road to avoid a collision with the vehicle. Both bikes struck an inside barrier wall.
