Hudson Woman Accused Of Leaving 8-Year-Old Boy Home Alone

HUDSON, FL — A 49-year-old Hudson woman has been arrested for child neglect after being accused of failing to supervise an 8-year-old boy.

Patty Souza of Frierson Lake Drive was arrested Dec. 24 after Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said and left the boy home alone.

Deputies said Souza and her neighbor drove to Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Holiday, picked up her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend, stopped at a friend's house to pick up Christmas gifts and then shopped for groceries at Publix.

The boy began searching for her and was found crying at the intersection of Frierson Lake Drive and South Road by Pasco County Fire Rescue members.

Souza told deputies that she had left the boy alone in the past and thought he would be OK while she was gone.
