Kittens Rescued Following Port Richey House Fire

Four kittens were rescued when a house caught fire Sunday in Port Richey.

PORT RICHEY, FL -- Four kittens were rescued when a house caught fire Sunday in Port Richey.

According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, at about 11 p.m., firefighters were called to the 9100 block of Hunt Club Lane and found heavy fire and smoke coming through the roof of a home. A car in the garage was also on fire.

After firefighters knocked down the fire, they entered the home to extinguish remaining hot spots. While firefighters were working inside the house, they found four kittens in a puddle of water.

All four kittens are in good health.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the homeowner. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
