Land O' Lakes Man Accused Of Beating Woman, Stealing Her Phone

A 30-year-old Land O' Lakes man was arrested after deputies said he beat a woman, stole her phone and prevented her from calling for help.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 30-year-old Land O' Lakes man was arrested after Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said he beat a woman, stole her phone and prevented her from calling 911.

Michael Flammini was charged with robbery, aggravated battery and tampering with a victim.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Kiowa Drive in New Port Richey Thursday after a woman reported that Flammini had pushed her to the ground multiple times, punched her in the back of the head and kicked her in the ribs.

When the woman tried to call 911 on her cell phone, she said Flammini grabbed it away from her, pushed her down and began slamming her face on the ground. He then fled from the scene with the phone.

Deputies found Flammini walking away from the scene still carrying the phone. When deputies tried to arrest him, they said he became aggressive. Upon arriving at the Land O' Lakes Detention Center, he tried fighting multiple deputies.

He's being held at the jail without bond.
