Largo Man Accused Of Threatening Wife With Knife To Drop Charges

A Largo man has been arrested after being accused of holding a knife to his wife's throat to convince her to drop charges against him.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- A Largo man has been arrested after being accused of holding a knife to his wife's throat to convince her to drop charges against him in a New Port Richey Police grand theft case.

However, his alleged efforts only led to additional charges.

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies charged Christopher Saranovic, 33, of Ulmerton Road with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and tampering with a witness.

According to deputies, on Tuesday evening Saranovic approached his wife in Bayonet Point and threatened to kill her if she didn't drop pending grand theft charges against Saranovic in which she is a witness.

Deputies said he told his wife to "do whatever you can to make these felony charges go away or I'll kill you and dump your body."

During the confrontation, Saranovic reportedly pushed his wife to the ground and then held a knife against her throat.

Deputies said the knife caused a small laceration.

Saranovic was taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center where bond was set at $20,000.
