Mall Announces Early Closing

Gulf View Square is closed until Tuesday.

As “extreme flooding” continues in the western part of Pasco County, Gulf View Square has announced it shut its doors to shoppers at 2 p.m. Monday.

Mall officials say the closing honors a request from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office that “no vehicles are to be on any roads between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. as rising waters are expected to be at their highest during this time.”

The 9409 U.S. 19 mall in Port Richey will likely reopen at normal hours Tuesday. A flood watch, however, does remain in effect for Pasco County until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Mall officials are asking that shoppers check its Facebook page for updates as they become available.
