Man Accused Of Bending Boy's Fingers Back For Burning Incense

A Port Richey man was accused of bending an 8-year-old child's fingers back and threatening to smash them with a hammer.

PORT RICHEY, FL — A Port Richey man has been arrested after being accused of bending an 8-year-old child's fingers back and threatening to smash them with a hammer.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office charged Scott Allen Thomas, 42, of Whitman Lane with child abuse Wednesday.

According to deputies, Thomas became angry because the boy was burning incense in the home without permission. When interviewed, Scott said he accidentally bent the child's fingers back to the point that the boy cried out for help and admitted to threatening to smash the boy's finders with a hammer but said he wasn't serious.
