Man Found Passed Out In Running Car With 2-Year-Old In Back Seat

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 23-year-old New Port Richey man was arrested after sheriff's deputies said they found him unconscious behind the wheel of a running car with a 2-year-old in the back seat.

On Saturday at 7:25 p.m., Pasco County Sheriff's deputies were called to 2441 Seven Springs Blvd. after a witness reported the unconscious man. The witness said the man had been passed out for about an hour with the engine running. The car was in park and the man's foot was on the accelerator.

Deputies found Dennis Lee Bracknell of State Road 54 unconscious in the car. A 2-year-old girl was strapped into a car seat in the back seat of the car.

Deputies administered Narcan to revive Bracknell and then charged him with child neglect.
