Michael Decker Charged in Port Richey Beating Death

He's accused of beating a man so severely he later died from his injuries.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and Port Richey Police Department say they have arrested the man they believe is responsible for a March beating death.

The case in question unfolded back on March 15 near the intersection of Limit Drive and U.S. 19. Detectives say Michael Morgan Decker and Gregory Johnson got into a fight that ended with Johnson being so severely beaten he was rendered unconscious. Johnson died as a result of injuries on March 24.

Following an investigation, Decker was charged in the crime Monday. He was already being held at the Pasco County Jail on a burglary charge when detectives added a count of manslaughter to his record.
