Update: Mitchell v. Wildcats Game Canceled

The Mitchell Mustangs varsity baseball team were to take on the Wesley Chapel Wildcats in an intense district match tonight, Tuesday, March 29.

Updated: This game has been cancelled for tonight. Check back at New Port Richey Patch for details on when or if it will be rescheduled.

The are looking to give the Wesley Chapel Wildcats their first loss of the season.

This woul be the second game pitting the Mitchell and Wesley Chapel boys varsity baseball teams this season. In their first game, the Mustangs fell 5-2 in what Mustangs Head Coach Scot Wilcox said was an “ugly game” for Mitchell.

As of right now, the Mustangs are averaging 9.7 runs per game, while the Wildcats are averaging 8.3.

Any advantage in this close district match-up is beneficial, and the Mustangs have not only the runs over the Wildcats, but they also average about two more hits a game.
