Motorcycle Driver Dies After Colliding With Car In Pasco County

Florida state police said the crash happened when an SUV made a left-hand turn into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 34-year-old New Port Richey man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car on a Pasco County highway Friday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV driven by a 17-year-old girl from Tarpon Springs was traveling west on SR-54 shortly before 11:50 p.m. At the same time, authorities said the motorcyclist was traveling east on the same road.

As the SUV approached Crestwood Boulevard, police said the 17-year-old made a left turn into the path of the oncoming motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to hit her car.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the SUV and a 57-year-old female passenger were both uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
