Motorcyclist Killed; Woman Charged With DUI Manslaughter
A 38-year-old motorcyclist from Spring Hill was killed Friday after being struck by a New Port Richey woman charged with DUI manslaughter.
HUDSON, FL — A 38-year-old motorcyclist from Spring Hill was killed Friday when a 24-year-old New Port Richey woman accused of driving under the influence turned into the motorcycle's path.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 9:36 p.m., the 24-year-old was driving north on U.S. 19 approaching Viva Via Drive and the motorcyclist was heading south on U.S. 19. At the intersection of Viva Via Drive, the women turned onto Viva Via Drive and collided with the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The 24-year-old was taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center where she was charged with DUI manslaughter.
