New Pasco K9 Stars In Pursuit Of Juvenile Auto Burglars

​A new recruit to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office K9 unit helped foil a teenage auto burglary gang found breaking into vehicles Saturday.

PORT RICHEY, FL — A new recruit to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office K9 unit helped foil a teenage auto burglary gang found breaking into vehicles Saturday.

Around 3:10 a.m., Pasco sheriff's deputies, including the K9 unit, responded to a call about four juveniles who were attempting to enter vehicles by pulling on door handles in the Port Richey area.

Deputies arrived and the juveniles fled on foot.

Deputy Kat Seper and Star, who joined the unit in August, were sent in pursuit and located a backpack that had stolen items from the victims’ vehicles, along with tools commonly used in burglaries.

The team continued tracking and shortly located two juveniles hiding in a backyard. The third juvenile was located by perimeter deputies. The fourth juvenile was later located by patrol deputies.

This is the second auto burglary arrest for two of the teens. One was previously arrested on Aug. 12 on nine counts of auto burglary.
