New Port Richey City Elections 2016: When Do The Polls Open?
Residents of New Port Richey have two open council member seats to fill this election year.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Presidential politics might be dominating the news these days, but that doesn’t mean New Port Richey residents don’t have important decisions to make on the local level.
Two city council seats are up for grabs in this year’s election. To keep things easy for residents, the city’s Election Day is separated out from the national hoopla. City residents report to the polls on Tuesday, April 12 with only one polling location opening for the race. That location is the Recreation and Aquatic Center, 6630 Van Buren St. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A second location, the City Hall Administrative Office, will be open for absentee voting only, the city says.
In order to cast a ballot, people must be registered to vote and must reside within the city limits of New Port Richey. Proof of residency is required.
Absentee ballots are available at the City Clerk’s office starting March 11. They’ll be available through April 11. Absentee ballots will not be made available on Election Day.
Candidates who have qualified for this year’s race are:
- Larry M. Anderson
- Chopper Davis
- Ahmad Fagouseh
- Rob Oman
- K. Vance Ray
- Jeff Starkey
Want a chance to meet the candidates?
The Green Commerce Association and East Madison Growers Club are sponsoring a forum on Wednesday, March 16. The event takes place at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 5919 Main St.
