New Port Richey Man Accused Of Beating Another Man With Ax Handle

A 34-year-old New Port Richey man has been arrested after being accused of beating a man with an ax handle.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 34-year-old New Port Richey man has been arrested after being accused of beating a man with an ax handle, causing lacerations, bruises and swelling.

On Jan. 3, Pasco County Sheriff's deputies charged Timothy Hurlburt of Gumee Avenue with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after they said he and an acquaintance got into a fight over a flashlight.

Deputies said Hurlburt picked up an ax handle and began beating the other man on the chest, arms and legs with it.

Hurlburt was taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center where his bond was set at $10,000.
