NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- A 37-year-old New Port Richey man was arrested after being accused of passing out from a drug overdose while supervising two children.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Scott Duguette of Kingsbridge Road was baby-sitting two girls, age 1 and 7, on Saturday, March 30 when he injected himself with the pain-killing opioid Dilaudid. The 7-year-old told deputies he was holding her on his lap when he passed out. Frightened, the little girl grabbed the baby and ran out of the house to seek help from a neighbor.

The neighbor gave Duguette two doses of Narcan, a medication used to block the effect of opioids, to revive him.
