New Port Richey Woman Killed In Crash On U.S. 19

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 55-year-old New Port Richey woman has died following an accident Tuesday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 5:19 p.m. Melanie E. Cohen was driving a Chevrolet HHR pickup truck north on U.S. 19 north of Alderman Road while Adrenne M. Wygonik, 74, of Oldsmar was heading south on U.S. 19 in an Audi Q5.

Troopers said Cohen lost control of the pickup truck and crossed over the center median, colliding with Audi.

Cohen died at the scene. Wygonik was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital with serious injuries.
