New Treatment Program Opens in Pasco

Fairwinds Treatment Center joins Growth & Recovery Counseling Center in Trinity to create a new intensive outpatient treatment program (IOP) for adults in our community.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs (IOP) are designed to help those who have been experiencing persistent and unremitting symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other emotional problems which significantly impact their ability to carry out their usual daily activities. IOP clients need more than weekly one-to-one psychotherapy, but don’t need (or no longer need) inpatient or higher levels of care. IOP can also be very beneficial for clients who are stepping down from an inpatient stay and desire that extra support while transitioning back into life at work, school & home.

This program will be composed of 9 hours/week of therapeutic groups and classes covering such topics as improving coping skills, tolerating/regulating painful emotions, concrete tools for structuring productive days & staying motivated, getting needed support from family members, managing medications, and much more. There will also be an experiential component each week (i.e. creative therapies to include journaling, art exercises, yoga, meditation, music therapy, and psychodrama).
