NPR Man Charged With Trying To Hit Pasco Deputy With Cane
A New Port Richey man is charged with aggravated assault after reporting a fake burglary and then trying to hit a deputy with a cane.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL β A New Port Richey man is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer after reportedly calling in a fake burglary and then trying to hit a deputy with a cane.
A deputy responded to the home of Robert Williams, 61, of 3434 Elfers Parkway, New Port Richey, on Sunday, July 8, after he reported a trespasser trying to break into his home.
When the deputy concluded Reynoldsβ complaint was unfounded, Reynolds reportedly became agitated and raised his cane, threatening the deputy.

The deputy ordered Reynolds at gunpoint to drop the cane but the deputy said Reynolds refused. He then ran into his house despite the deputyβs command for him to stop.
Reynolds came out of the house a short time later and was arrested.
