Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater's Department of Financial Services, in partnership with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, is holding a free workshop for seniors, their families and caregivers. Called Be Scam Smart, the workshop will teach attendees how to spot a scam, how a scam works, and steps to take to protect themselves.
The Be Scam Smart workshop will be help at the Elfers Senior Center on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Registration can be made online at www.MyFloridCFO.com/SAFE or by contacting the Division of Consumer Services toll-free at 1-877-My-FL-CFO (693-5236). Registration will also be open one hour prior to the workshop.
