Osprey Freed From Fishing Line In New Port Richey: Police

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Officers were quick to respond to reports of an osprey tangled in a discarded fishing line Tuesday, the New Port Richey Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

They were able to free the bird from the line and with the help of a citizen, they wrangled the possibly injured animal.

Volunteers from Birds in Helping Hands took the osprey in for medical services and rehabilitation, police said.
