Pasco deputies have arrested a Holiday woman and charged her with 47 counts of animal cruelty.

HOLIDAY. FL -- Pasco deputies have arrested a Holiday woman and charged her with 47 counts of animal cruelty for reportedly locking 46 cats and a dog in a U-Haul truck and car with no food, water or air-conditioning.

After receiving complaints from neighbors, deputies responded to 2170 Dixie Garden Loop, Holiday, on Saturday, Sept. 29 and found a U-Haul truck with its storage compartment locked. When they opened it, deputies said they found 37 cats inside. The cats were in cages stacked to the roof of the truck. They had no food or water. There was no air-conditioning and temperature was stifling hot. Deputies said the cats were in poor condition, sitting in their own feces.

Deputies discovered nine more cats and a dog locked in the cab of the U-Haul and another vehicle in similar conditions.
