Pasco Sheriff Says Stranger Tried To Lure Trinity Girl Into SUV

TRINITY, FL β€” The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is reminding parents to educate their children to never enter the vehicle of a stranger after a young girl was approached by a man in Trinity.

On Monday at about 5:45 p.m., a girl reported that she was approached by an older white man in a vehicle in the Trumpet Vine Loop area.

The man asked her how old she was and told her to get in his vehicle. The girl ran away and reported the encounter.

He is described as an older white man wearing a black mask. He was driving a dark-colored SUV.

Deputies don't know if this incident is related to one that took place Friday around 6:30 p.m. in New Port Richey.

A girl reported that she was approached by a Hispanic man in the Havana Avenue area and asked if she wanted a ride. She, too, declined and reported the incident.

The man was possibly driving an older light blue Mercury Mariner.

The sheriff's office is investigating the incident and urges anyone with information to contact the Pasco Sheriff's Office Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488.

The sheriff's office obtained some surveillance photos of the older light blue Mercury Mariner driven by a man who offered to give a girl a ride in New Port Richey Friday.
