Pasco Sheriff's K9 Apprehends Fugitive In Port Richey

A Pasco County Sheriff's K9 helped apprehend a fugitive Monday night wanted for grand theft, resisting arrest and possession of cocaine.

PORT RICHEY, FL -- A Pasco County Sheriff's K9 helped apprehend a fugitive Monday night wanted for grand theft, resisting arrest and possession of cocaine.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies were serving warrants to Anthony Howard, 31, of Hudson at a storage facility in Port Richey. Howard was on the other side of a 7-foot fence surrounding the storage facility and deputies ordered him to lay on the ground. Instead, they said Howard fled.

A sheriff's K9 chased him across the intersection of Scenic Drive and U.S. 19 and into a back yard on Scenic Drive where the dog caught up with him and deputies placed him under arrest.
