Pasco Tax Collector Mike Fasano Announces the Launch of Pasco Sheriff's K-9 Association "Join the Pack!" Donation Month

Pasco Tax Collector Mike Fasano announces that the Pasco Sheriff's K-9 Association will be the tax collector's featured charity for June

Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano proudly announces that the Pasco Sheriff’s K-9 Association will be the tax collector’s featured charitable organization for the month of June. The “Join the Pack” promotion will support and equip K-9 teams throughout the county. The funds raised will help purchase, train and provide needed medical care for both active and retired K-9 officers. Throughout the month of June cash donations will be accepted at all Pasco Tax Collector’s offices as well as through the mail.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has ten active K-9 officers (dogs) that help find lost children and adults, hunt down fugitives from justice, sniff out drugs and do a host of other duties to assist their handlers. The average cost of a new K-9 is $8,500, which does not include medical care, materials and other needs throughout the dog’s life. Specially equipped vehicles, well-trained handlers and specialized equipment are all part of the Sheriff’s K-9 unit. The Tax Collector will be asking customers to donate to this very worthy cause.

Customers who wish to support The Pasco Sheriff’s K-9 Association may make a cash donation with any transaction during the month of June, or may send in a donation with their automobile renewals or any other business they may have with the tax collector.

“We want to thank our Tax Collector, Mike Fasano, for advocating for our Pasco Sheriff’s Office K-9 Association,” states Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco. “These incredible dogs do so much to protect and serve our community and the funds raised will go to support our K-9’s while they are working in our communities and also to ensure that their retirement is healthy and rewarding.”

“The sheriff had a vision for the K-9 officers that put their lives on the line each and every time they are deployed when he created the Pasco Sheriff’s K-9 Association,” Tax Collector Mike Fasano states. “Their care, training and medical treatment during active service and especially after retirement can be costly. I encourage every customer to consider making a donation to help keep these wonderful animals well cared for. Your donation of any amount will assist K-9 officers and their handlers to not only be productive members of the law enforcement community, your donation will ensure that are all well cared for after their service has ended.”
