As part of the AAA Traffic Safety Foundation's "Safe Summer Campaign," Tax Collector Mike Fasano will hosting "Senior Safety Day" on June 14

As part of Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano and AAA’s Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation “Safe Summer Campaign,” Tax Collector Fasano will be hosting “Senior Safety Day” on June 14. The event, held by AAA’s Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation, will offer specialized training and vehicle inspections for the community’s senior population.
Older drivers will be the focus of two events scheduled on June 14 in the Gulf Harbors office (4720 U.S. Highway 19, New Port Richey). The Mature Drivers Defensive Driving Course will be held from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM that day. Additionally, the CarFit program, which provides free safety checks of vehicles operated by senior citizens, will take place at the same location. The general public may receive their free safety inspection from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (no appointments necessary) while participants in the defensive driving program will receive their inspections from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
“We are excited to partner with Tax Collector Mike Fasano and his staff on this important campaign to raise awareness in Pasco County of traffic safety issues,” said Michele Harris, Director of Traffic Safety Culture for the AAA’s Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation. “By working together, we can provide education and training to thousands of people and help keep people safe on the roads.”
