Pasco Tax Collector Raises $7,700 To Aid The Elderly
Tax Collector Mike Fasano announced that $7,700 was raised to benefit CARES (Community Aging & Retirement Services).

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- Tax Collector Mike Fasano announced that $7,700 was raised to benefit CARES (Community Aging & Retirement Services), which was the featured charity of the month in May.
CARES is a Pasco County-based organization that provides services to seniors, so they can stay in their homes and be as independent as possible. The funds this year were meant to ensure that senior citizens have access to health care, are able to keep food on their tables and ensure that their caregivers will receive whatever support they may need.
“We are so very grateful to Mike Fasano, the Pasco County Tax Collectors Office and his staff at the five county locations who commit their time and efforts for the charity of the month program,” said Jemith Rosa, president and CEO of CARES. “The money they raised for CARES will help frail elderly people in Pasco County who are facing illness, hunger and isolation.”

“Ensuring that CARES receives the funds it needs to help our seniors has always been important to me," said Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “CARES, and more importantly the people they serve, hold a special place in our hearts. The health care professionals who volunteer their time at the senior health clinic to help this aging and medically fragile population are to be applauded for their work. The people who make sure food is delivered on a daily basis to home-bound seniors, and the caregivers who often give up other aspects of their life to care for their frail loved one, all make this organization unique in our community. Many thanks to the generous customers who stopped by our offices to donate $7,700 to assist in the provision of these important services. From a very grateful tax collector’s office and staff I thank every person who made this charitable promotion a success.”
