Passenger In May 31 Crash On SR 54, Starkey Blvd Dies

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- A passenger involved in a May 31 crash on State Road 54 at Starkey Boulevard has died.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 62-year-old Stephen M. Knorr of Hudson died Saturday at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.

At 6:55 p.m. on May 31, Chad T. Erickson, 32, of New Port Richey was driving an Audi west on SR 54 approaching the intersection of Starkey Boulevard. Donna Shotwell, 62, of Hudson was driving a Ford Focus east in the turn lane of SR 54 when she began to make a left turn onto Starkey.

According to the FHP, Erickson ran a red light at the intersection and collided with the passenger side of the Ford Focus.

Erickson was cited for running a red light.
