A 30-year-old New Port Richey woman is dead following a crash on U.S. 19 Tuesday night.
According to the New Port Richey Police Department, the accident happened in the area of 5736 U.S. 19 around 6:58 p.m.
Shana Dorsey of Hightower Drive was struck by a 2008 Pontiac SUV driven by James Pacino of New Port Richey as she was crossing the road. The area was not designated for pedestrian crossing, police said.

Dorsey was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital following the accident. She died early Wednesday morning.
No charges are anticipated in the case.
