From Pasco-Hernando State College: Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) received the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) Excellence in Technology Award, 2016 Best Practice Award of Merit, and Communications and Marketing Commission Awards of Excellence at its annual conference held in November in Orlando. The AFC recognizes outstanding programs and services each year that are established to serve students at local colleges.

The day-long TechCon event, held at each of PHSC’s five campuses, focuses on the use of technologies that encourage students to solve problems, think critically, conduct research, analyze data and communicate ideas.
The PHSC East Campus was awarded the 2016 Best Practice Award of Merit for its STEM Night event, designed to facilitate local pre-collegiate and college students’ interest in fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
