The
Downtown New Port Richey Art Gallery will host its monthly open microphone
poetry reading Friday, May 30 from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Gallery, located at
6231 Grand Blvd. in New Port Richey. Combined with an evening of poetry
readings will be a performance of the popular one-act plays by local playwright
Ralph Annan. The humorous plays are performed by members of the Old Time
Radio group from Spring Hill, FL. This month's performance is entitled "Daisies," a tender reminiscence of a loved one now departed.
After
the play, poetry readings and discussions will be held. Anyone may participate,
so experienced poets, aspiring poets and those who just enjoy listening to
poetry are encouraged to attend. Bring your own work, or poetry that has
special meaning to you. With May being Mother's Day month, poems about motherhood and mothers would be welcomed. It’s always an entertaining, literary evening. The
event is free to the public.
