Combined with an evening of poetry
readings will be a performance of the popular one-act plays by local playwright
and artist Ralph Annan. The humorous plays are performed by members of
the Old Time Radio group from Spring Hill, FL. This month the play, which is a
comedy, is entitled Obsolete and is set in a futuristic world. A man
courts a woman, only to find out that she is in love with – of all things – a
robot. How does one handle that situation? Attend the performance and
find out.
After the play, poetry readings and discussions will be held. Anyone may
participate, so attendees and aspiring poets are encouraged to bring their own
work, or poetry that has special meaning to them, or is particularly relevant
to this month’s Gallery art exhibition theme, which is devoted to “Love is
All Around Us.” Numerous works from area artists convey images of
love, friendship, devotion, and whimsical interpretations of love. They are
especially appropriate for February, traditionally known as the month for
lovers. Poetry devotees are encouraged to attend and to bring along friends for
a fun literary evening. The event is free to the public.
