PORT RICHEY, FL — A precautionary boil water notice remains in effect in the Marina Palms and Bayou Vista areas of Port Richey.

The notice was issued Saturday for the area of U.S. 19 south of the Cotee River due to an 8-inch water main break. Residents are advised to boil water for one minute before using it for drinking or cooking.

The notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. Generally the boil water notice is in effect for three working days beginning the day the pressure was lost.
