Port Richey Man Accused Of Dragging Dog As It Yelped In Pain
A Port Richey man is facing animal cruelty charges after he was accused of dragging a dog by the neck while it yelped in pain.

PORT RICHEY, FL — A 28-year-old Port Richey man is facing animal cruelty charges after being accused of dragging a dog by the neck for more than 100 feet while the dog yelped in pain.
Deputies were summoned by neighbors who said Andrew Tyler Levine of Gray Fox Lane was abusing his dog and assaulting residents on his street.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, neighbors said Levine grabbed the dog by the back of the neck and raised it off the ground and then began dragging the dog as it cried out.
When neighbors tried to intervene, deputies said Levine pushed one resident and punched another in the mouth.

The dog was able to escape from Levine and ran away. When deputies tried to detain Levine, they said he refused to stop and tried to enter his home. He then resisted attempts to handcuff him.
Deputies said the dog could not be located so its condition was unknown at the time the arrest affidavit was filed.
Levine was charged with two counts of battery, disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and cruelty to animals. His bond was set at $2,750.
