Port Richey Police detectives are searching for a man who took a loaded firearm from an unlocked vehicle.

PORT RICHEY, FL -- Port Richey Police detectives are searching for a man who took a loaded firearm from an unlocked vehicle.

On Saturday, May 5 between 3 and 5 p.m., a man entered an unlocked 2005 Cadillac that was parked at a residence on Queener Avenue in

Port Richey and took a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380 along with two loaded magazines from the vehicle.

Port Richey officers have received reports of numerous vehicle burglaries in the area over the last few days that may have been committed by the same man.

Detectives have obtained surveillance photos of a white male who they believe may be responsible. He is 25 to 35 years old, wearing a stocking cap, a light-colored long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, slides and carrying a cinch sack on his back.

Detectives also obtained another photo of a white male who is wearing a stocking cap and carrying a bag on his back. It is unknown at this time if the photos are of the same person.
