Port Richey Woman Charged With Kidnapping Neighbor's 18-Month-Old

A Port Richey woman has been charged with abduction after reportedly snatching her neighbor's 18-month-old son off the front lawn.

PORT RICHEY, FL – A Port Richey woman has been charged with abduction after reportedly snatching her neighbor’s 18-month-old son off the front lawn where he was playing and refusing to return him to his mother.

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the home of Ann Marie Orr, 53, 10909 Leeds Road, Port Richey, Monday, Feb. 12, after her neighbor at 10903 Leeds Road called 911 around 4:30 p.m. to report that Orr had taken her toddler son into her home and would not give him back.

When deputies approached Orr’s front door, she refused to open the door and hand over the child, saying she was keeping him because she felt the mother was unfit. After about 10 minutes of coaxing, deputies were able to convince Orr to place the child in their custody.

Deputies then tried to arrest Orr but she pulled away, evading the deputies' attempts to handcuff her.

She has been charged with kidnapping and resisting arrest without violence. She taken to the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center to be held on a $50,000 bond.
