Resident Says Postal Carrier Won't Deliver In Nudist Resort

HUDSON, FL – Representatives of a nudist resort in Hudson have declined to comment on a report that a postal carrier won’t deliver packages to residents at the resort because she's offended by nudity.

The resort representative who answered the main office number for the Eden RV Resort and City Retreat, 13220 Houston Ave., Hudson, said the resort’s management is looking into a story posted on Monday, Feb. 26 by News Channel 8 that one particular U.S. postal carrier refuses to deliver packages to the nudist retreat. He declined to give his name and said the resort's management will not comment on the story.

According to News Channel 8, a resident of the resort called the television station to complain that a female mail carrier who fills in when the regular carrier is not working refuses to deliver packages inside the nudist resort.

According to the News Channel 8 report, the regular mail carrier as well as UPS and FedEx carriers have no problem delivering packages to the resort.

The clothing-optional resort has mailboxes outside its gates for letters and small packages but larger packages must be delivered directly to the residents or the office inside the resort.

The Hudson Post Office at 13610 Big Bend Drive, Hudson, referred Patch to the U.S. Postal Service headquarters in Washington, D.C., which did not return Patch’s calls.

Ethan Centeno, who works in the main office of one of the area’s largest clothing-optional resorts, Caliente Club & Resorts, 21240 Gran Via Blvd., Land O’ Lakes, said package deliveries have never been a problem at the Caliente Club.

“No, that’s not an issue we have here,” he said.
