River Ridge Baseball Prepares to Takes On Hernando
Get ready for the first game of the River Ridge season

The varsity baseball team begins its regular season with a trip to Hernando High School to take on the Leopards on Tuesday night.
The Knights are off to a ‘good start’, says Head Coach Jack Homko.
They won their two games in the City Classic, 5-2 against Ridgewood and 11-0 against Hudson.

Senior Taylor Rish will probably start on Tuesday night against the Leopards. Rish is one of River Ridge’s best two pitchers, says Homko. The other pitcher is Junior Tommy Peterson, who will be playing shortstop when not on the mound. “Tommy (Peterson) seems to be showing signs of being the team leader, even if he’s only a junior,” said Homko.
The Knights are expecting the match-up on Tuesday to be a ‘good game’ according to Rish.

“The Hernando game will be very big," Homko said. "They seem to be the team to beat in our district.”
The game begins Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Hernando High School, at 700 Belle Avenue, Brooksville.
